Jamaica International Financial Services Authority

The Jamaica International Financial Services Authority (JIFSA) was established in 2011, as part of Jamaica’s effort to attract new investments, stimulate job creation and generate revenues. JIFSA operates under the mandate of the Jamaica International Financial Services Authority Act, with the responsibility to establish and maintain international linkages, aimed at positioning Jamaica’s international financial and business services sector on the global landscape.

Its main role is to market and promote Jamaica as a jurisdiction for international financial and business services for economic growth and investments within the Jamaican economy. Additionally, the agency seeks to create and develop the legal framework to establish and support entities in Jamaica to provide financial and business services to the export market and own assets in other jurisdictions, thereby leveraging Jamaica’s several competitive advantages.
