His tertiary education spans three continents, including the University of the West Indies, Prairie View A&M University in Texas (U.S.A.), and Imperial College at the University of London (England).

Dr. Wheatley is a distinguished British Commonwealth Scholar who has made significant contributions to medical research and education. He holds a Bachelor of Science Degree with Honours in Biochemistry and Chemistry, and earned his Doctorate in Basic Medicine from the University of the West Indies and Imperial College, University of London.
