Jamaicans Should Have Faith in a Government That Delivers the Results

Prime Minister Dr. Andrew Holness has called on Jamaicans to believe in a government that is not only working but delivering results for the people.
Prime Minister Holness highlighted the work of the administration, which is backed by a historic and unmatched record of achievements.
Speaking yesterday (May 27) at the groundbreaking ceremony for the Ferry to Rock Pond Pipeline Project, the Prime Minister asserted that in an age of misinformation, doubt, and political skepticism, faith in proven leadership is more critical than ever.
“We need to have a positive outlook, and we need to have faith. There’s a biblical definition of faith: ‘the substance of things hoped for and the evidence of things not seen,” the Prime Minister urged.
Dr. Holness pointed directly at the results of a working government.
“In front of you is the evidence of the delivery of what you hope for. That’s why I can speak to you with confidence. This is what every other community without water is hoping for, and today, you see it happening.”
Framing the ceremony as not just as a local event but as a message to the rest of Jamaica, Prime Minister Holness said groundbreaking and commissioning ceremonies serve a national purpose to show that commitments made are being kept.
“It is important that the rest of Jamaica, who are not benefiting from this yet, can have faith that the government they elected and will re-elect will deliver for them,” he said.
In a sharp rebuke of those spreading falsehoods, Prime Minister Holness cautioned Jamaicans not to be swayed by politically driven negativity.
“In today’s world, you’re confronted with information that is absolutely negative, of which there is no evidence to support it; just pure rumour and lies. We will not join them in the gutter of lies. We will not join them in deceiving the people.”
Dr. Holness said the government’s response is grounded in action.
“We confront it by giving people hope of the things they desire and showing them the evidence as to how it can be achieved. That is what this administration is doing,” he remarked.
Capping his message with undeniable confidence, Prime Minister Holness declared:
“We are the first government in the history of Jamaica, uncontestable, to have the record of achievements that we have had and will continue to have. We can campaign on achievements,” Prime Minister Holness said.
Prime Minister Holness highlighted that the Ferry to Rock Pond Pipeline Project is more than a pipeline, but it is proof that faith in the right leadership is well placed.
