Community Petition to support the Chips Hall Estate Development at Fruitful Vale, Portland

We, the undersigned, express our full support for the Fruitful Vale (Chips Hall) Estate Development — a community-led regeneration project located in the Fruitful Vale of Portland, Jamaica. This initiative, led by David McKenzie, a British-born Jamaican citizen with deep family roots in the area, is focused on transforming underused ancestral land into a productive and sustainable hub of agriculture, eco-tourism, and clean energy. The project is expected to generate over 1,000 jobs, provide youth and women with training and income opportunities, and restore the region’s natural environment through sustainable farming, reforestation, and solar infrastructure. This petition will be submitted to the Development Bank of Jamaica (DBJ) and relevant government bodies as part of the project’s funding and public-private partnership application. It is intended to show that the people of Fruitful Vale, Chips Hall, Skibo, Bangor Ridge, Claverty Cottage, Shirley Castle, Windsor Castle, and other nearby communities fully support the project and welcome its long-term benefits. By signing this petition, you are helping to demonstrate that this development is not only wanted — but led and embraced by the community it serves.
