We, the undersigned, petition for the licensing of four-wheel all-terrain vehicles (ATVs) in Jamaica. Many Jamaicans already own multiple ATVs and use them for recreational riding, yet they often face unfair treatment, even when trying to enjoy off-road trails and designated paths. Licensing ATVs can set clear standards for safe and responsible operation, ensuring that riders are trained, vehicles are maintained, and ATV use is both safe and lawful. By establishing a regulatory framework, we can support responsible ATV ownership, allowing enthusiasts to ride legally and safely while reducing conflicts on public roads. Additionally, licensed ATVs can attract adventure-seeking tourists, boosting local tourism and supporting small businesses. We believe a licensing system would be a positive step for public safety, tourism, and the fair treatment of Jamaica’s ATV community.
