Canada and Jamaica share a long history of friendship, mutual respect, and close cooperation.

Moments ago, I had a bilateral meeting with Canada’s new Prime Minister, the Right Honourable Mark Carney. Our discussions were grounded in reinforcing the strong bonds between our two nations.

We discussed cooperation in the areas of security, regional concerns and education and training. Jamaica looks forward to continuing our partnership with Canada to advance our shared goals for sustainable development, prosperity, and regional stability.
