This morning, I was pleased to hold a courtesy call with the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Ghana, Hon. Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa. Jamaica and Ghana share deep historical and cultural ties, rooted in our shared African heritage.

I expressed Jamaica’s sincere thanks for Ghana’s support following Hurricane Melissa, especially the donation of much-needed equipment, assistance with rebuilding roofs, and support to help affected families recover. Our discussions also focused on strengthening South-South cooperation and deepening collaboration in culture, education, and diplomacy, as we continue to strengthen the bond between Jamaica and The Republic of Ghana based on shared values and mutual respect.
