20th Gathering of the Heal the Family, Heal the Nation Day of Prayer Service
On Wednesday, I addressed the annual gathering of Heal the Family, Heal the Nation, where I talked about the role of the family, Jamaica’s turning point towards peace, and importantly, the role of the church in continuing to pray for our nation, supporting the family and engendering social cohesion. At a time when many families have been tested by hardship and uncertainty, I reaffirmed that national healing begins in the home, through restored relationships, reconciliation, and collaboration.
The Government will continue to support families through social protection, housing, education, and community development. At the same time, love, guidance, and care within the home remain essential. When families are nurtured, communities are stabilised, and the nation is strengthened. I am grateful to Power of Faith Ministries International, in association with the Jamaica Umbrella Group of Churches, for convening this important national event as we begin the year by committing our plans to the Lord and seeking His guidance for the year ahead.
