Government of Jamaica Endorses the National Commercial Bank Jamaica Limited’s Launch of the Build a Better Jamaica Fund

In response to the devastating impact of Hurricane Beryl, the Government of Jamaica has endorsed the National Commercial Bank Jamaica Limited’s launch of the Build a Better Jamaica Fund, a $300 million disaster relief initiative through the NCB Foundation, yesterday at Jamaica House.

National Commercial Bank Jamaica Limited (NCBJ) initiated this fund with an initial pledge of $20 million. This fund will assist with the restoration of homes and farmers’ crops in the most affected parishes, such as St. Elizabeth, Hanover, Clarendon, and Manchester.

A portion of NCB’s funding will be directed to the Office of Disaster Preparedness and Emergency Management (ODPEM) to further bolster relief efforts.

This fund is an opportunity to help restore normalcy to their lives and communities.
