Prime Minister Holness Visits Sections of Clarendon | Hurricane Beryl Damage Assessment Tour
The impact of Hurricane Beryl is very real in sections of Clarendon, including Portland Cottage, Mitchell Town, and Rocky Point, where I visited yesterday.
Homes are devastated with missing roofs, damaged structures, flooding, and complete loss. Some residents are housed in shelters, while others are with family and friends.
As largely fishing communities, these areas are experiencing a truly tough time in the wake of the hurricane.
My commitment to them is that we are working to reach you with the support you need as quickly as humanly possible. I see the need and the loss, and I know the worry you feel.
Despite it all, you continue to put the pieces together, and I am deeply heartened by your strength, independence, and resilience.
We will get through this together; your government has your back.
